*Almost Alice*

Originally for this picture, Alice was supposed to be a young woman sitting on the ground with Cheshire with her legs to the side and looking intrigued but skeptical about what Cheshire is telling her - about Wonderland. However, no matter what I did, I couldn`t get the pose for grown up Alice right since her legs would be touching his arm and hand and I didn`t want to imply any sort of romantic or extremely close relationship unless it was utterly platonic. `
How ever I as listened to more and more of the lyrics, I found that it seemed like the singers who I interpretated as Chess, in my own way, was talking almost as though it was a child he was adressing. So I supposed that I should just make Alice a child because it would be very cute and easier to fit into the page with some sort of balance instead of total symetrical figures as I observed later in scraps. This picture though did inspire me to start a story which I will post up onto fictionpress or fanfiction. If you would like to see it, tell me so and I will send you the link.

So this took longer than it did with my usual pictures because I kept erasing and drawing and erasing until when I finally had a finished product of what I wanted, the paper was in no shape to use so I had to trace it with tracing paper and transfer over to another sheet.
Alice`s design was fairly easy enough because I did like how she looked young in the movie and often times I saw this little girl with the same hair and expression standing at the bus-stop and thought her so pretty with her pink lips, blue eyes, and pale skin that I used that idea to draw her. The dress as well was another design that I had to take into consideration because I wanted it to be her signature blue dress but I didn`t want to use the same designs that I always did for the other Almost Alice pictures. Originally, she was to wear boots but that didn`t match the ambiance of the picture, so I considered mary-janes but that didn`t match either until finally my sister said that she didn`t need shoes if she was indoors and this is what I got.
Cheshire`s design was a bit harder to think about because i didn`t want to draw a cat, I wanted to make it more strange and what better than a cat-man. His costume was a bit hard to design but I`m glad I strived for it. Do you like the head design because before it was simply going to be human hair with ears attached but the cat head is more exotic.
I started to colour only her dress and before I knew it, the piece demanded more and more colours. However, i didn`t get much shading done and I hope the piece isn`t the worst for it.
