Shion's extremely passionate about his work. Curious about all things magical and whimsical he wishes to expand his knowledge on the subject. However, due to not being able to use magic he feels like he has a lot to make up for.

He's still young so even though he's hard-working in his own sense, he has a tendency to goof off and play around. He finds it hard to hold his tongue at times because his mouth runs faster than his mind so he tends to speak honestly in a casual setting. He loves meeting new people with common interests, and he especially loves talking about magic. With that being said, he also loves to experience new things and talk about the other person's differing interests, lifestyle, and hobbies.

Although he's constantly learning he feels embarrassed about his current amount of knowledge and it never not being enough. When he's discussing something he doesn't know anything about (and that's a lot of things), he tends to go along with it like he previously knew about it beforehand. Because of this he makes a fool out of himself quite often and ends up embarrassing himself. He also has a bad habit of trying to act more mature and sophisticated when he's upset but that facade often breaks within the next second.

To cover his insecurities, he’s grown to have baseless confidence and is actually very competitive. Though he may be ignorant to if the subject at hand is actually something to be competitive over he’ll do what he can to “win."
HISTORY

Shion doesn't know where he came from or who he was before he was found by a witch nearby a distant magically driven city. Supposedly found in the middle of the forest with no memory or even his name, he lacked a sense of self and identity. Being completely lost in all aspects, he had no choice but to rely on the witch for guidance.

Years passed since then, and it turns out the witch was a reputable professor at the city's academy and took Shion in as her apprentice. However, despite the majority of the city's population composed of magic users, he isn't magically inclined at all. So, his position as an apprentice basically composed of him being more of errand-boy and being at her side during her lessons as an assistant.

The only things he can use are items with magic already imbued into it. So with his inability to use magic in mind, he dedicated himself to studying potion brewing and learning about chemistry in order to advance in his own goals.

After feeling like he has been stuck in a rut for the past year, he decided there needed to be a change of pace. When he found the letter from Toffee Town in the mail, he knew this was the opportunity he should take in order to expand his horizons and maybe even learn something new. So with all things considered and blessings from his teacher, he journeyed off towards his new life by taking the Eclair Express.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

▷His hometown is a port town with relatively advanced technology based on magical innovations and has a cold/snowy climate. There are long winters, there's no snow in Spring or Summer but it's still relatively cold. The climate of Toffee town is actually rather shocking but since he's underweight cold climates aren't preferable living conditions to him regardless.
▹He has to take a 4 hour ferry ride to the nearest town with a connecting train in order to take a ride onto the Eclair Express!

▷ Has a teacher by the name of Amara at home, who's a prestigious witch.
