Hello Everyone!I am ALIVE!
I know I haven't posted anything in a while, but that's because summer is OVER and my senior year at RISD is just beginning! First off: A few character from Alfonse & Domingo, designed to respond to the first assignment for Character Creation. Meet Pito, Zee'doh and Jin! While I don't want to give away too much of the story...these characters belong to a troupe of traveling performers in the world of A&D. Pito lifts heavy things, lights the stage-lights, and reaches for things on the shelf that are too high up for others to grasp. He is gregarious, mute, enormous, and loyal to a fault...he is especially beloved by the troupe's pair of acrobatic twins: Zee'doh and Jin, who are often seen riding around on Pito's shoulders.
Anyways, it was a blast to do...and it's good to be back in the saddle here! (no pun intended...really.) I hope you enjoy this inaugural piece for the 2008-2009 academic year! Hurrah!

completely AMAZING character render(s). seriously. all the accurate little details make me artgasm; the way the belly fat makes the bellybutton overlap, the glow of the orb reflecting in the shading on his thumb, the way his smaller toes bunch up together. i'm a total nerd for "accurate little details" and you're definitely rocking my world with this :3

This is going to sound odd, but I like how you captured the roundness of his belly. That was bugging the daylights out of me in Life Drawing class the other day.

I really like big round things...my hand naturally gravitates to draw everything big and round...I just find the aesthetic pleasing. I had a few sketches of him as thinner, or more chest-oriented with less belly...but I couldn't help it!

Pito is the kind of guy I would follow around hoping he'd catch on that I want to sit on his shoulders like those two cool asian girls. His overall shape is spot on, and I like where you decided to put the tattoo. The light he is carrying is also very fun. And as for an critic, hmm...I'm not quite sold on Jin's face, but as I told you before j'aime les costumes!

Nice to hear, and I'm right there with you on Jin's face...I think it was mostly that she wound up being so small in the drawing I didn't have much space to work in. Excuses, and poor ones, but good to hear! Anyways, thanks!
