My Great, Great, Great, Great, Grandfather was Benjamin Franklin Weed in the Union 5th Minnesota Infantry during the American Civil War. His cousin was Union Army Brigadier General Stephen Hinsdale Weed. My Grandfather Herold Benjamin Weed was a Mechanic in the Army Air Forces during WW2. My Father Ben K. Weed was a Civilian Employee of the U.S. Air Force, working on Nuclear Bombers during the 1st Cold War. I thought about joining the Navy, but finished college, and tried helping my Father a bunch until he passed away. Watched a lot of War Movies with my Dad. Remember Private Weed lost his life on "COMBAT!". Union General Weed lost his life in "Devil's Den" in the 1993 film "Gettysburg". He lost his life in the battle, but "Weed's Brigade", was victorious. Colonel Weed survived the 1939 film "Gunga Din". He survived the battle and his British Regiment was victorious. Just some Hollywood "Weed" family members. Some of them Killed in Action, K.I.A. Also, the town of Weed California is named after Abner Weed, who built the lumber mill there. People with the last name Weed came over from England to the New World in 1630 on the Winthrop Voyage. My Mother had her uncle, Rolland Frost, killed by the Japanese in WW2. Her family had a gold star hanging in the window because of WW2.
