I remember watching this anime in a local TV channel some time ago.
Frankly, I didn't like the animation - it was very limited, the animators heavily used chibi versions of the main characters (especially Sunako here) and super simplified drawings of the minor characters like crowds or others like that. I also didn't like the character design. There's something about their lips that bothered me. 
I actually got my hands on a manga volume of the Yamato Nadeshiko: The Wallflower, and found out, the mangaka had a certain style of drawing the characters, and I guess the animators tried to be loyal to that, thus the lips and the slender physiques in the anime version. 
But enough with the technicalities, what I liked about this anime though is that it made me LOL SO HARD! 
Just because of the major lol factor, I'm able to forgive the animation style and all that.
It just cracks me up when Sunako starts bleeding from her nose. I drew her here in her normal, prettier form. I tried to draw her the same way the original author drew her. Hope I did some justice. And who can't forget her "unique" friends. Haha! Also the other reason I drew this is because my crush likes this anime too. Hope she'll smile when she sees this in my sketchbook.

Sunako is the most beautiful girl ever! It makes me sad people bullied her and called her ugly to make her feel bad, the guy she liked probably said she was ugly because she wasn't like those air head girl who would give him sex and actually had a personality which would turn pig guys off, and the girls as well as the goth loli sisters and those Kanburo girls are hidious physically and in personality who are probably jealous of Sunako because they can see that despite her weird persona is actually a beauty herself and she is with beautiful men.

i didn't like the coloring too much as it didn't seem right. i adore her chibi version but she has many moments where she has her real life body versions in the manga. it was hilarious to read and i just love the main character so much c:

Their lips always bothered me too but only on the guys. I think sunako Is the most beautiful anime character ever and I loveeee her chino version. I never knew you drew this. I found this picture on fb and fell in love with it. It's been my phone wallpaper for a while. I'm glad I found who made it. It's so beautiful.

I watched the first episode of that anime and was bothered by everything you mentioned: the physiques, the lips (seriously, wtf!!) and the lazy animation. Still though, love the drawing!

I have not seen the animΓ©, actually, but I've never been a fan of the design from the start. Hilarious series, though, even if the story doesn't really go anywhere.

1 week ago I finished watching it and I love it because I had to laugh so hard, too. The style wasn't that good but somehow it was unique. xD
So sad that there was not so many romantic moments. I think it would be more awesome.

Yeah, I guess they didn't focus much on the romance (especially Sunako and Kyouhei's relationship) but went ALL OUT with the comedy and nonsense.
