Here's Luke! The Sodor Aluminium Company's little green engine!

Brief Bio
Luke was built by Kerr Stuart & Co Ltd in 1922. He was built to work for Cas-ny-Hawin Mining Company (Located on the Mid Sodor Railway). Although never officially owned by the MSR, he was quite friendly with most of their engines.

In 1947, Luke (Along with MSR No.3 'Falcon' and MSR No.4 'Stuart') were sold to the Sodor Aluminium Company. Upon arrival, he was giving a cab (To help give his crew shelter from the rain) and was reunited with former MSR engine 'Freddie' In 1952, he was repainted in SAC Grey and by 1954 he was the only engine in operation following the sale of Falcon and Stuart to the Skarloey Railway two years prior and Freddie's withdrawal.

Fifty years later in 2002, both the SAC and Skarloey Railway made an agreement, where Luke would be able to visit the railway whenever they had an engine or two out of service. After a successful trial period later that year, the deal was made official. To go along with this, Luke was repainted in a special Green with White and Blue lining.

As of 2024, Luke still works for the Sodor Aluminium Company, although he does occasionally visit the Skarloey Railway whenever they're an engine or two down.

Luke is a gentle (and sometimes) sensitive soul. He is always bubbling with enthusiasm and always keen to work as part of a team. There are times, however, when he may want to run away and be left alone and he may not be quick to stick up for himself either, but when there is someone in need, Luke is passionate about showing how much he values his friends and will bravely heave into action without a second thought.

While not an engine of the Skarloey Railway, his passion for work and kind personality make him a pride to the railway nonetheless!
