Description DAMNIT, the E got chopped off again... oh, well.

(Inside what was the Lava Plant, deep below the crust of Aether, Robotnik is seen excavating with Knuckles... or at least, something like it. Soon, the powerful, mechanized Knuckles reaches what Eggman was looking for. The mad doctor grins while the brilliant glow of his prize gleams on his glasses.)

(Sonic senses the Master Emerald while in his super form and follows it all the way to Aether. When he gets there, he sees the planet has COMPLETELY finished forming, and is now habitable. It seems the Doctor's mission is complete. The blockade of spaceships that shot Sonic's stolen Egg Galleon down before turns on him again. This time, though, he isn't confined in some stuffy ol' spaceship.)

(Sonic, thinking to himself) Let's celebrate the completion of your new world, Eggman. Time for some fireworks.

Here's some music that is not mine. [link]

Yeah, I know I already used it for the Egg Goliath, but I think it's okay to use a track more than once if it's appropriate for the scene.

As you can see, this stage is an on-rails shooter. This would control almost EXACTLY like those Sky Chase levels from Sonic Adventure, only you WOULD be given a little more room to move around in, like a sliding key frame in a movie. You can shoot at enemies and even use a lock on "charged" attack, like Tails' plane could, but you can also "dash" like you would in the Doomsday Zone in Sonic 3K, which damages nearly enemies. If you're able to play as Hyper Sonic yet, you can even use Chaos Blast to hit everything on the screen at once, like you could in Sonic 3K. It takes a few seconds to recharge, though. This stage is several minutes long, and eventually you could run out of rings, but destroying enemies earns you more rings. So, the more shit you blow up, the longer you'll live.

Now that I think about it.... Why didn't I bother drawing a flying, sky chase like level before the first fight with Metal Sonic? It would've been great fanservice and would've given the player some grasp of how THIS controls, instead of leaving them unprepared for this... Oh, well. I'll draw that later, when I put these in a folder. It'll be a "deleted scene".

Egg Galleons aren't that hard to destroy, just hit the engines on the front like you did at the Egg Port. Afte ra few seconds, they'll implode. Hit them anywhere else, though, probably not. But then, there are much, MUCH bigger ships that carry and deploy large numbers of Egg Galleons at once, and let's just say these are like Sonic's equivalent of Star Wars' Star Destroyers. In fact, let's just go ahead and call these "Egg Destroyers". To destroy them, you'll need to hit their heads a LOT of times, but you'll get 100 rings if you successfully destroy them, and the subsequent flash of the explosion will take out all other enemies on screen at once anyway.

I don't usually draw enemies in these things, but I liked those flying bird jet things from Sonic 2, so I drew some of those, some of the "E-118 Sigma" [link] E-Series units, and the "E-120 Nu" [link] series has been brought back in production by Eggman. Some enemies go down instantly, and some, like Nu, take a LOT of hits. They also use a shield, which'll take even longer to eat though. Just wait for them to lower it. They'll do it if you go long enough without attacking them. While it's down, just keep spamming them. At some point, you will fly along the surface of an egg destroyer with lots of cannons firing at you. Eventually, you'll reach the planet and fly down to it's surface.

I probably should've made the Nu units purple to match the planet.... but it would clash horribly with the ships. And if I just made everything purple, well..... I dunno. Maybe I'll do that and let it be a "deleted scene" too.

So, waddya' guys think of this? Glad to finally be out of "drab and gloomy" zone?

So what does Aether look like, now that it's finished? You'll have to wait til tomorrow to see, suckers.

Too much awesome! Great concept for the climax, with an explosion of action and color.

Thanks! I wanted it to be the complete opposite of the last three stages, which were made to bring the player down and give them a sense of weariness and hopelessness. This stage and the next are meant to bring them back up!

It certainly played a nice bit of "compensation" compared to the almost-dreary atmosphere the metallic worlds gave. I'm excited to see what the finale is gonna be!

Cool E-000 series, way better than those goofy Egg pawns.

Not a bad scene, though, right?

No,its awesome to see Super Sonic flying around in space, for a regular level. Instead of some special end game boss.
