It's just the same piece as before, but with cool lighting. I made too separate pieces, since I think some of the design's plain colors are compromised by this sort of lighting. Anyway...

Here's a shoutout to Nitroflasher, a brilliant composer who made a coupla' great tunes for me to absorb while crafting this design. Give 'em a listen, they're great. [link] [link]

I would love to see what becomes of Samus after Metroid Fusion. I don't just want a never ending heap of Metroid games, but I would like to see her in one final, end all be all adventure that shows her in the final years of her prime. And no, I don't want them to repeat Other M's story, which really just amounts to "DURR, teh secretly evil Galactic Federation doods brought back a bunch of doods you saw in back Super Metroid, so YAAAAAY you get to fight 'em all over again and relive those childhood memories!". No nostalgia boner stroking for me, no thanks. I want something NEW. I like games like Metroid Prime 2 Echoes. I like their more unique outings like that.

As for this suit, I wanted it to feel like a natural evolution of the Fusion suit. I suppose you could say this is how a new suit would turn out if the Galactic Federation tried to restore her suit but couldn't quite replicate that special Chozo magic, while giving their own spin on it. If she can't get her old power suit back, well, this will just have to be the next best thing. Like the fusion suit, most of this one is intended to have an organic quality that makes it look like muscles, save for the most heavily armored bits. The lights on the chest may look kinda generic... but I didn't want to draw the same lights seen in Other M or whatever else we've seen. Just wanted to try something different. I did my best not to make this design too busy, and to keep it pretty simple, at least in comparison to some of her other suits. Like I said, this is, on some level, supposed to remind you guys of the fusion suit.

Also took a few cues from Guyver, and this brilliant re imagining of Samus right here. [link] I just love that design to death. So yeah, this was definitely pretty heavily inspired by that. That artist got my juices flowing and made THIS design possible.

Anyway, I hope you can see the spirit of the character flowing through this. If I were to make a Metroid comic (if), this is probably what she would look like.
