"Surrender Now or Prepare to Fight!" "That's Right!"

To celebrate the upcoming episode in Japan, the ending of the Pokemon anime and the Pokemon Anime's 25th Anniversary one more time, we have the lovely, charming villains, Jessie, James and Meowth of Team Rocket.

I wanted to work on a project featuring these three pretty much since I finished my 25th Anniversary tribute last year. I represented all of the heroes, but you can't have a hero with some villains!

Jessie, James and Meowth are undeniably some of the most important characters in the entire anime, maybe even further than that with their appearances in Let's Go, Go, Masters EX and even the Trading Card Game. You cannot deny their impact on the story and their relevance to this day.

Of course, Team Rocket aren't much without their loyal partners! I decided to only draw the Pokemon that they specifically still own (unfortunately Cacnea, Chimecho, Mimikyu and Mareanie don't count ) so I can understand if it's a little disappointing to not see Arbok, Weezing, Victreebel or Dustox.

I started and finished this project about three weeks ago and didn't know whether or not to draw Woobat, Yamask, Frillish and Amoonguss because I wasn't sure if they still had access to them. From the ending of Black and White it seems like Jessie implied that they gave those all to Giovanni to use in his plans and didn't have access to them anymore... That is until a screenshot released of this week's episode in Japan where they're seen alongside all of Team Rocket's other Pokemon! I was really happy to see them all together but that also meant I needed to go in and add them here! I managed to get them in pretty quickly though.

I did have an idea for Giovanni to be a silhouette behind them, looming over them, watching their every move, but it didn't really work out with the background so while that was a cool idea, I had to unfortunately scrap it.

This was also the project I hinted towards in my last deviation, being the first project I started and finished with my Huion KAMVAS 12. Like I said there, I wasn't sure at first but I think I have the hang of it now and really like it! It's been a lot of fun and I'm glad I was able to get it on a discount! Not sure if I ever would have gotten it if it wasn't discounted.

The last bit of news I have to talk about is how the Pokemon anime is slowly coming to a close. We're only 3 episodes away from the end and honestly? I'm not ready for it to end yet... Maybe I never will be... I will admit the new trailer has me intrigued in the new series due to the beautiful animation but so far I'm not entirely convinced. It seems to be directed by Saori Den who directed the final part of Ash vs Kukui's battle which is arguably the best scene in the whole series (That one scene in Ash vs Leon definitely at least rivals it) so if nothing else, I'm excited for that.

Will we ever be able to meet up with our old friends again? Maybe, maybe not. but I have to hope that at least all of our favorite heroes and villains will go out with a twinkle in the sky.
