NIC HAS A NEW OC???? AND IT'S NOT A VALIANT (2005) OC????
I've had a few ivory-billed woodpecker (and other bird) OCs, but this is the first time that I'm drawing a fully anthropomorphic/humanoid bird. It was a bit hard for me, but I absolutely love his design. I know, that curly crest of his resembles more like that of an imperial woodpecker than an ivory-bill, but I just wanted to make his crest look more "puffy" and less angular... I hope the bird fans won't mind about this intentional mistake that I made.
Anyways, meet my new OC, Cam Collingwood! He belongs to the Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa fandom. He's a lively and smug ivory-billed woodpecker who loves to chat and hang out with others. He got lost and stumbled upon Cowtown while trying to find his way back to where he came from. His agility and evasiveness was noticed by the C.O.W.-Boys, and although he doesn't usually work with them, he became a lone ranger (after he was influenced by their acts and trained hard) who wanders around the town, helping others in need whenever he can. He constantly accepts tasks from others... in which he is often tasked to deal with birds because he is a bird. He is very annoyed by this but just never expresses it due to not wanting to seem rude. He also sometimes shows sympathy towards outlaws, especially birds, whenever he is tasked to capture and arrest them (well, except for those that commit crimes without remorse). However, even when he is doing all these good deeds around the town and the region, some others suggest that he is only doing so because he may be hiding a big secret from them...
When he is free, Cam is very laid-back and likes to joke and (jokingly) flirt with others. This makes others feel like he's not actually committed to doing his job (but in reality, he is extremely dedicated to doing what he's supposed to do). He is usually seen hanging out at The Tumbleweed with other patrons and starting small talk with them, whether it be about recent events or just discussions about what they like in general.
