Medium: Gel pensSat down at my desk and all my gel pens were spread out, looking so sad...I had to use them again!!! Mushrooms are so much fun to draw using these colors. I was thinking about painting the background black, should I?

if you paint the background black....I think the mushrooms will pop out more, no doubt about it 
The picture reminds me a little of a movie called Upside Down...have you seen it? It's about double gravity 
anyway, it reminds me of it because the mushroom seems to melt upwards, but the threads are still hanging down beneath it, hehe
And again.... I just don't understand how you can manage to color like this with your gelpens... For me it's not so much about the shadows...it's more like... why did you decide to put -that- color -there-? lol. These are the things I find insanely awesome with your art

The more I look at this picture the more I like it. I've always felt mushrooms have more of a death and decay feel to them, but with the vibrancy of the gel pens it really gives a more life-like feeling to a more "dark" thing. I LOVE how in the picture it can be viewed from two angles, almost as though that the mushroom is being pulled upwards and downwards *turns head upside down* I kinda take from this picture "With the destruction of things (The mushroom exploding) there can still be beauty. (The explosion of colours)" But that's just my take on it, I also really like the first mushroom on the left that has a kinda frowny face! :3

I'd say go for it.. with painting the background black. It would give a nice contrast to this fine colourful piece.
