This work is both dismal and mesmerizing. The message seems profound and the delivery is simplistic. It is not easy to catch the eye with almost effortless techniques in artworks, but Jolly has achieved it.
At first glance, you think you see skeletons; ribcages with no skulls, in an environment that is sketchy, compressed and weathered. Upon further inspection, you notice that the skeletons are actually buildings in the rain (and possibly a sneaky insertion of a sparrow in the lower left area). This is not a 'nice little picture,' this is a masterpiece.
If I had only one word to describe Jolly's work, it would be, Astounding.

At first glance I thought it was a snow scene. When I actually looked, it's skyscrapers etc. This could either be a snowy city or a rainy one. Very clever and I love it
