Description Hey folks!

Just as Fridays are usually reserved for "Free Mars" updates/illustrations, I thought I'd likewise pin Mondays to post my explorations and images related to the "Divinity" webcomic and its upcoming reboot.

As I said in my last post regarding this revamped version of the tale, if you've been following my work long enough and perused my Gallery you'll know that I used to illustrate the aforementioned story way back when (you can use the 'Search' option in my 'Featured' page and see all the material related to it). It was a work I was very proud of and while I would tweak some things today, it still holds up very well. Which brings us to the latest development.

The writer and creator of the comic had lost a bit of hope (and rightfully so) about us ever being able to keep the story going and I myself had doubts as well, seeing as how hectic my schedule always is and the toll it takes me to work a full-color comic week after week. Thus, I proposed to him a new arrangement: that we reboot the whole thing, which would allow me a chance to revise the things I'd change, update and overall draw much better today while at the same time providing us the chance to switch mediums and offer the tale in stark black and white. He's been loving my latest pen and ink pieces (as have many other folks, thankfully) and jumped at the opportunity to revitalise the story with a new angle. So, we've set our clocks and have started working on bringing back "Divinity", which I hope will make some folks happy.

As a token of how I'd go about the new style and tweaks I suggested to the designs, I've started doing explorations of the key characters so as to give everyone an idea of what to expect and this is the third official piece in the first set, featuring adventurer extraordinaire, Vincent Van Rooy.
This charming character has always been one of my favorites, not only because of his Indiana Jones-esque style, but also because (asmuch as I loather drawing vehicles) he uses the sweet 1920s motorcycle which you can see here. Albeit it takes me a bit longer to come up with pieces based off reality and historical references, the end result is highly satisfying and show me how much I've ben evolving without realising it fully. Of course, I'm still not at the level I'd want to, but we'll get there
Also, I've been studying the work of the amazing Sergio Toppi, and learning of many ways to improve my pen and ink renditions, which I hope shows through.

So, I'm more than happy and proud of this work and hope you'll join us for the ride again. I'll have more designs and news as they develop

Thank you as usual for all your support!

Nic.-

For some reason the name "Vincent Van Rooy" and "sweet 1920s Motocycle adventurer" makes me thing "TINTIN" but for the life of me one could not explain why!

There's definitely some Tintin influence in this story, my friend .

Thank you for the interest At the moment there's no place to get a hold of the previous incarnation of the story. But I will be keeping everyone updated as soon as the new pages go up and share the link where you'll be able to see them.
