Description Happy Tuesday, folks!

Well, we survived Monday And having done so and looking at all the positive reaction that I got on myΒ last post , I decided to do another lighting/mood exploration before jumping onto work for the rest of the day.Β

As I said yesterday, Terminator 2: Judgment Day is amongst my favorite films and I learnt a lot from watching it endlessly on my VCR (yes, I'm that old ). But it has been only recently, as a professional, that I have got the best out of these classics in terms of storytelling, camera angles, lighting and setting which has helped me immensely in my current projects and whole approach to comic-making. Of course, there are areas that are more challenging than others and thus, these warm-ups serve as the catalyst for me to step out of my comfort zones and try out new avenues.

The T-1000 must rank amongst the best villains in film for sure and I think it was his unrelenting presence and impossible-to-kill aura that elevated the protagonists of the film even further. It is a true statement that the heroes' best measure is their villains and the T-1000 has been one of the best representation of that, which took T2 to a whole new level.

As usual, I hope you enjoy this one and see you soon!

Nic.-

A chilling performance and one Robert Patrick will always be remembered for. Great tribute piece to a menacing villain!

Thank you so much, Joseph! It's hard making these characters justice but I'm glad I could come close at least

Robert Patrick's performance was pure nightmare fuel for me as a child, lol. But now I can REALLY appreciate it, T2 is probably one of THE best action-sci-fi flicks to date!

Agreed on both counts! I always loved the fact that Cameron didn't cast a typical Hollywood hunk for the part but instead chose someone pretty odd which gives of that machine-like quality to his performance a 100% boost!

"I know this hurts."

As much as I love T2 and the T-1000. I really enjoyed How Byung-hun Lee portrayed him in Genisys, I know nothing will compare to Robert Patrick's portrayal but I felt Lee did a good job as well. Not to mention the T-1000's death in Genisys was really cool.Β

I concur. One of the things that I really loved about Genisys is the fact that with current technology, they could make the Terminators extremely menacing and quick as opposed to the stop-motion we'd always seen previously; well, not counting some latter films, haha. But i think in this one they really turned it up a notch.

Oh yeah they did a good job in Genisys, for me I thought it was a decent Terminator movie, I liked how the whole timeline was screwed up and that Connor was a Terminator himself.

If I had known you'd post the T1000, I'd have kept "have you seen this boy?" for today's post

I quite like the sepia look you got today, even if I'm not sure that's what you were aiming for...Β

I was aiming for that, indeed! These were meant as practice for my lighting which has always ben a bit of a weak spot for me.

First, sorry for the late answer, I was away from the internet for the last week.

When I first looked at the piece, I thought you'd been aiming for a "lit by molten iron" style that turned out sepia because you didn't "dare" to use more orange-ish/red-ish colors... But if the slightly washed out feel was what you were aiming for then it's a success.

I guess the use of that color palette with a subject lit by fire can be misleading for a viewer who puts a bit too much thought to what he's looking at... At least this shall be my excuse
