I spent way too much time on this...but I think it worked out pretty well.

Devil May Cry is such an epic series. Dante is a great main character and plain and simply a fun, but still well developed character. Seeing how Dante changed from Devil May Cry 3 to Devil May Cry, then Devil May Cry 4 is pretty cool. The original look, which I drew here, is the most classic to me.
I'm not fan of the Dante from DMC: Devil May Cry. He kind of comes across as being designed as being everything Dante shouldn't be, like they went out of their way to. As Hideki Kamiya said (in his Engrish lol): "I gave "Stylishly run with long coat", "British guy" and "Doesn't smoke cigarette". Long coat is I just wanted to put something showy on character. British guy is I wanted for Dante to be not only a fighting man, witty and traditional fighting man. About cigarette, this is simple, I just thought man without cigarette is cool."

I really hope original Dante makes it into MVC: Infinite! I have a ton of Capcom character artwork planned as well, see watch if you'd like to see more of my work!

For those interested in my method, I started with 2H mechanical pencil on marker paper, then inked with sakura pigma multiliners 0.05, 0.1 and copic ciao black. I then scanned and coloured on photoshop CS6 with a Wacom Intuos.
