HEHE - You might call it Love on the Rocks.
I love her face.

Was the background so rough looking before? When I mean increasing contrast, I dont mean going into photoshop and playing with the contrast button.
As a painter you have to paint the contrast in with more hilights. I'm pretty sure there is a tutorial on DA but I dont have a handy link.
BUT the girl character does look much better!
Just remember this, even though were dealing with color as basic idea is a monochromatic scale. Grey for instance has many shades: first it starts at white which is 1 and 10 is black grey is 5, the middle. Hilights are 1-3, midtones are 4-7, shadows are 8-10. This simple exercise is practiced with the pencil and the many diffrent lead weights between h and b; what im explaning can be found in any beginners drawing book hopefully.
I forget where I was going with that long bit of info..but hopefully it was helpful somewhat. Next thing you should ask yourself is the light's direction and how it affects your hilights midtones and shadows. But for the most part you have that working out.
All you need is more fine details on some objects of your choosing and Id call this a finished piece of learning.
