Are you referring to the books? if so the timeline is off and it doesn't fit with the game storyline and Goldannas account

no, his mother was a maid in the castle, which does not necessarily make her elven. In fact i saw no elven maids at castle redcliffe

According to the books that was made up, and that his real mother was an elven archer which went with his father on an adventure in the book

No the books state that Maric had a bastard child with her through a dark ritual. Maric probably has more than one bastard floating around in Thedas. Not to mention it doesn't go with the time line or Alistair's, Eamon's, and Goldanna's accounts of who his mother was.

This is gorgeous and is totally faved. Sadly, being a fan of Anora all I can think of is how sad and lonely she must be looking at Alistair and his consort and knowing that again she's the second choice, and no matter how smart she is or how good a Queen she is, it's never earned her love. *hugs lonely Anora*

Aww, don't mind me. I just have a hard time taking her throne from her. I didn't even realize Anora could "betray" you on my first playthrough because my Warden kept her promises to her so she kept hers to my Warden. She's only ever not been Queen once in my playthroughs, and is usually either monarch by herself or married to Al. Of course, that's like killing Loghain. Loghain is a great guy, despite having been an enemy for a good portion of the game, and I can't do it. Especially not right there in front of Anora. Her horrified face with the blood-spray. Eeesh. No amount of selfish screaming on Alistair's part makes that okay with me.

Well to be equally fair-- Loghain didn't kill Duncan. If anyone besides that ogre did, Cailan killed Duncan (He'd planned to commit suicide-by-darkspawn at the battle-- that becomes apparent besides his ultimate betrayal of Anora and Fereldan, with the Ostagar DLC). The signal was late and Loghain retreated because the army would have been slaughtered if he charged then. Word of the writers (although I figured it out on my own from hints in game). The only two bad things he did on his own was agree to sell the people of the Alienage for money to pay mercenaries to fight the Blight and poison Arl Eamon (which he did in an effort to save Cailan from him). He didn't even intend to kill Eamon-- just keep him sick long enough to break his hold over the King. Everything else, down to the persecution of the Wardens, was Howe. Loghain allowed it because he doesn't know anything about politics himself other than the fact they annoy him. He's a soldier and stupidly left the back-room work in Howe's hands because Howe was savvy to such things and he was a patriot. He thought Howe's love of Fereldan would keep him in order-- but didn't count on his lust for power being so great.
I put myself in Anora's position in regards to fathers. I'd hope that if my father had tried to save not only his King but his Country (even if it backfired) that the person holding a sword to his neck was a person capable of understanding his intentions were good and sparing him.
Anora's terrified though-- and not just because her kingdom might erupt into violence over his potential claim to the throne. After seeing Alistair explode into the screaming crazies because he couldn't murder someone (particularly my father) I'm not sure I wouldn't want him killed too. She doesn't know him personally and could only judge by the little interaction she had with him--- other than looking like Cailan and having the potential to be as treacherous, there's not much to recommend him. (Not that the writers really gave them time to interact, even if you do want them to get married. They should have.)
No, Alistair leaves Anora to a much crueler fate at Eamon's suggestion-- locked away in a tower to rot. At least if she died her punishment would be over quickly.

Sorry about that, I thought this was to the other comment I made here. Goldanna is actually the one who tells you about it, the Alienage is part of her tirade. I think it's also mentioned at Redcliffe.

Alistair locks her in a tower in Fort Drakon. It's the Epilogue part called "Anora's Imprisonment" I believe. You should be able to wiki it.
