Description This is the creche (day care centre) which was set up with the aid of Ocean Blue (the organization for which I volunteered) in a township in Plettenberg Bay, South Africa. In the background you can see the mountains and beaches that draw hordes of tourists to Plett in December/January. Closer by, you can see the factory buildings where many people work. Just beyond the fence you see a typical house that these kids live in; a relatively small building with four wooden walls and a roof.

This creche, which accepts kids from ages 2-6 or so, was set up so that the mothers could go to work in the daytime to support their families. The kids also get a good meal every day (the tables haven't been put away yet).

In the foreground you see one of our volunteers (Ross) showing a kid how to properly throw a paper airplane.
