So I was watching the Merrie Melodies short "Hollywood Steps Out", and tried to identify as many celebs in the video as I could. I couldn't identify most of them (since the video was made YEARS before I was born), but I could identify like, 10. Then, I was thinking, "Why not draw some modern celebrities in that style, including foreign ones?" (like Kyary Pamyu Pamyu pictured here.)
This is a caricature of the Japanese popstar Kyary Pamyu Pamyu. I spent a lot of time making her big ol' hair bow and eyelashes look as exaggerated as possible, because of her song "Tsukematsukeru" (I don't think that's how you spell it, but oh well.), which is about false eyelashes and how beautiful they make the wearer look. The bow is there because she's famous for wearing cute yet bizarre outfits (more often than not) including bows. She is also my favorite modern non-Vocaloid singer.
