The final era in Plants vs. Zombies II is a beach party set in the 1960's. While I don't find that particularly disappointing, I do think that compared with the much older eras-ancient Egypt and China, the Golden Age of Pirates, the Wild Western frontier, the Middle Ages, and the very distant future-the '60's seems a bit too recent for the context of the game.
I do like that they finally made a canon girl zombie-the Bikini Zombie shown at left. She does look very, very 1960's-y to me with her polka-dot swimsuit and her bouffant. (Check out those old pictures of people at the beach that were taken at the time, as seen in one photo book of the Beatles' lives-quite a few ladies did look like her, but less…dead.) And on her left, we see the Pompadour Zombie. He too looks very era-appropriate as well-I think there was a tropical stuff craze at some point in the decade, so Hawaiian shirts were trendy back then (especially among the beach bum crowd, of course!), and when it came to masculine hairstyles of the time, pompadours and Beatles haircuts were VERY common on guys. I had planned on making this a black-and-white drawing like an old photo from this time period, but I decided that it'd look better if it resembled an old postcard. Come to think of it, I think that it'd make a really sweet face board.
