Another sketch I worked on for my graduation thesis presentation. I don't usually post these incomplete sketches, but this is a case where I was quite happy with the results and found it decent enough to add to my gallery. Those who know me from chickensmoothie will definitely recognize this fella, too... this is Hugo. He is my main monster and one of my favorite characters, period. I really should upload more art of him, but given my current struggles with my art, it's so hard for me to make a good drawing of him besides boring doodles. Meh.

I always enjoy playing with these heavy shadows and hatching-style textures, and for monsters in particular it really does a great job emphasizing their odd body shapes and facial features. For Hugo in particular, I absolutely love drawing his wrinkly face XD.
