Description
Some young 20 [something?] year old Severus Snape. I'd say this would have been after he found Lily dead. He's trying to remove the Dark Mark from his arm, but... failing.
I know some people might be all HIS HAIR ISN'T GREASY ENOUGH, but you know what? I prefer his hair to be like all choppy and feathered like it was in the The-Half-Blood-Prince and in the flashback during The Deathly Hallows Part 2. =3 I love it all fluffy and feathered. That's just a person touch I prefer.

Wouldn't the Dark Mark disappear after the Dark Lord's supposed 'death'? Nevertheless I like the idea and atmosphere of this picture, dark colors and pose. I'm not particulary fond of film Dark Mark design, but because it's a speedpaint I'm not going to complain at all.

I read that this was in an interview:
Q: Does the Dark Mark remain on those that Voldemort has branded after his death or does the tattoo dissapear now he is gone?
JK Rowling: The Dark Mark would fade to a scar, not dissimilar to the lightning scar on Harry's forehead. Like Harry's, these scars would no longer burn or hurt.
And we know that they didn't disappear, because Snape had his in the fourth book we first saw it. Although it was activated because Voldemort returned, but I'm guessing it was always faded? You never really saw/read his arms were bare. And I know Karkaroff had his on his arm in the fourth book in the potions shed where Harry saw him and Snape. Even though they were paranoid 'cause Voldemort was on the rise, I guess he never technically died, did he? He'd always be alive with the Horcruxes out there. Just when he'd gaining more power they started to tingle and burn.
I guess this means Malfoy still has his in the 19 years later part of the story.

She is speaking about Voldemort's death and I think she means his death in the 7th book, not disappearance. I've rather got the impression that during several years of Dark Lord inactivity the tattoo was faded completely. That's why Karkaroff panicked so much when it was begining to show again. The idea with the dark magic leaving scar sounds logical - curse which struck Harry and Dark Marks were a very powerful ones.
You know what sucks the most about those Dark Marks, now, when I think about them? We got to see it on Draco's arm in the film, even despite the fact that scene was not in the book, but they failed to show Snape's revelation moments in Goblet of Fire. And I was waiting so much to see it! When I was reading the book it was a turning point for me. Thanks to it I became more interested of Severus's story in the books later on.

I know what you were talking about, lol. But why would him disappearing make an even greater loss to the scar than when he actually died? Doesn't seem very logical to me.
Yeah! I agree. I was dying to see that scene, so I was hell devo when they never showed it. I think it would have been a really powerful scene in the movies. Maybe it was because he wore such tight clothing that it just didn't seem like it would work? Bugger on it, though. I woulda loved to see it!

I know exactly what you mean. There is story in czech languahe, similar to the Marriage Stone, but finished and from my point of view it's the best story i've ever read. It's not just about relationship, it's about life in general and every other reading I find something new in it. It's not just the best story, i've ever read, it's the best fanfic and it exceed most of books I read, for it's thoughts, style, feelings, descriptions... The list would be as long as story itself.
I hope it would be transleted into english... I tried to translate a short extract to show you, but then I pressed something and the page was clear and I got angry. :-/

I am unable to look away. It is so beautiful! And the way you have his hair adds to the picture! You can see his despair, the desperation, and his madness/insanity. If you had done his hair accurately, it wouldn't have the same breathe-taking effect (for me anyways).
