in serious need...
... OF MOTIVATION!! T______T;;;
I'm such a lazy person~~~
Anyways, that's Leader-sama! 8D Aka. GazettE's drummer, Kai!
Lately, I've been wanting to draw something using normal pencils only, so that's why I chose a pic, that's not so colorful~ I actually wanted to draw Kai in his current (Before I Decay) style, because I RLLY LOVE his long dreads and his half-shaved head to death! 8D (Honestly, I never thought I'd call Kai "hot" someday. >D)
But this pic is one of my favorites of him, so... I guess it won. XD
That's it! Gimme motivation nao, PLEASE! ;__;

For the lighter parts I usually use a B pencil (HB or 2B), however I don't press a lot on the paper. Then I use a tissue (or a thin brush, depending on the section that I'm drawing) to blend the pencil stains. :] And yes, if it's has gotten darker than I wanted it, then I do use the kneaded eraser, but in general it's better if you're careful from the beginning~ ;]
Instead of B pencils, you can also use H ones (I sometimes use the 3H one) because their lead is hard and their color is not very dark. However, they're hard to blend on the paper, so I would recommend them only for small sections.

Question: Do you do that graphing thing for the whole picture and all of the details, or just parts of the picture, or just for general lines and stuff?

What do you mean with "graphing thing"? The grid?
If that's what you mean, I use a grid to draw the whole basic sketch. It also helps me locate the details correctly later on~

I see. Cool. I try to do that most of the time - it usually ends up looking better if I do. The problem with it is that (I dunno how you do it, but) it takes a long time.
