hello hello!

I took a bit of a break during an art fight around Easter time and an idea came to my mind that i wanted to do for a while! So here i present the first part of the Princess Redesigns!!

Queen Celestia

Yes, to me she is a Queen! I really don't like how the only Queen in the show was Chrysalis and I'm very sure all these things she did in the show weren't princess only material.

Yes that means that Luna is a princess and she doesn't rule along side her sister which makes the Nightmare Moon situation much more understandable, that she would want to be ruler of all.

I really like Celestias design in the show but it could have been better done to represent her duty and talent. The show design could be nice for another princess. That goes for Princess Luna as well, she might be the princess of the night but that doesn't mean she needs to be painted with all the dark blues. But even then she is still better representing her element than her sister.

So having that in mind I started brainstorming ideas! Because of her height difference with all the characters I decided I'd base her off of a Shire horse, one of the biggest known horse breeds!

I gave her the characteristic long haired hooves and painted them almost a orange looking gold color!

I kept her wavy hair and gave them a more gravity accurate look, and gave her a loose hair down her neck and a rogue hair on her tail, to show that even royals aren't perfect or always composed!

I also made her posing a bit shy, her neck not completely straight with confidence! I like to think Celestia is the closed off sister, rarely being able to make conversation with others because of her duties as Queen. My little headcannon is that the way she was raised was why she sent Twilight to Ponyville to make friends. Because she saw herself in her student who was focused on studies and lost herself in books.

Now to the coloring. I searched for her original pallette just to see if I could still keep some elements of her show design, and noticed that she isn't pure white. Her main body color is a very light white looking pink! I never really noticed it until I read it! BUT. Even if it was super cute and nice I decided I'd change it for a more yellow/orange pale looking color! That looks white but isn't!

I also gave her some gradients to her horn and legs with a darker yellow/orange to give her a bit more ️personality ️.

Her hair is my pride and joy!

I wanted to still keep the many shades of color she had but make it actually look like she raises the sun! So her hair color from pink,blues, purples and mints went to sunset/sunrise colors! I also decided to take the yellow of the hair pallette and make a gradient. I wanted it to look like her hair got touched by the sun and it shows her age as well!

I will be doing that to most alicorn characters! I really like the idea that as they age they become one with their magic and it just shows on their hair.

For her eyes I did what I usually do with all my characters! I gave her eyes the color of her magic! But since Celestia apparently changed a lot of colors I decided to keep the yellow toned magic that I remember from when I watched the show!

This is part one of a four part series that I'm making and you can't imagine how much I'm loving how these designs turn out!!

All of these designs are made in FireAlpaca with Wacom cintiq 16!<3

I can't wait to show you the other designs and talk about my headcannons!^^
