This is a what-if image I made, where we look into this question, what if Will Brennan evolved his Misdreavus in Sinnoh? In this pic, after winning his gym battle against the leader Byron, Byron recommended Will fly with Charizard back to Oreburgh mine, to find a stone that might help his little ghostly friend evolve. After getting there, it took a tiny bit of mining, but Will finally found it. A Dusk Stone. Will knew this would help greatly later on, but had to wait for the right time to use it. And when he Sinnoh league came, it was time. Will called in for Misdreavus to be sent over, and he showed her the Dusk Stone. And with one tap, Misdreavus began to glow. When the glow subsides, Misdreavus wasn't there. But Mismagius was. Mismagius was happy in her new form, and ready to help Will win the league no matter the cost.
