I really like this but as keep rereading it I can't help but giggle, I find the words "Do you know what whales fear?" a bit funny just becuase it's a whale and whales are silly things in my brain.

Nah, I think the more modern explosive and motorized harpoons that explode inside the whale or are used to drag it are maybe bit more awful than just your ordinary harpoons, even if there's Ahab on the other end of it.
