Cool concept ^^
This just crossed my mind: since Nina became a comedian, it could be possible that she was an influence for Juliet's love for theatre as well due to acting?

Possibly, the amount of time spent trying to hide them depended on what the royals were like at the time. Karen and Nina would have been possibly okay while Mary and Lucy obviously needed to keep there's hidden no matter what. It also depends on how accepting the populace is, since the family would have to explain about their family tree
The worst case scenario the family tries to avoid is someone accusing a royal or the queen herself of having an affair which would shame both families. There's also the case of if someone found out about the family tree and shamed the families for having allowed that marriage all those years ago. Then's there's the even more dangerous scenario from Mary's time where if some people who hated the current queen found out, they might demand the family has a claim to the throne if the situation was desperate
So yeah it really depends on the queen and the times
