i will comment, after more reflection, on the symbolism, and write. oe note -- i am excited that the figure come up from what sees a twisting trunk of a tree.
for now -- look at [link] [link] -- Study after Velásquez, [link] -- the link to the francis bacon site is being reviewed and isn't up, a shame as it is the ost compreheansive website on any painter i have seen. now it is hard to see any of his works on-line. or interpretations that are not obvious.
