This was a fathers day gift to my dad, his cat that passed away this March, Rosco Picattrain. Hah, that was his nickname dad called him. ^^It turned out beautifully I think, aside from his whiskers.. they were hard to do because they were white and the rest of him gray. Otherwise, im very happy wtih this. Had it framed and its setting next to Cleo's portrait in the family room. His beautiful golden eyes still shine down upon us, and it makes me warm to think so.
Eventually, all of my past, and present animals will have portraits made.

*Nod* his eyes really made him stand out like nothing ive ever seen. To be true, for sure. You talk about a wolf's eyes being windows to the soul, one should look into a cats, as well.

Yeah.. I wish they made actual white gel pens.. but the nearest color I could ever find is silver and.. that wouldnt of helped me either.. heh, so I had to leave open spots.. which was weird.. but I guess it did the job I wanted.. somewhat. lol. Thankyou so much. Each comment on a piece like this always means a lot to me.

I always add the whiskers in afterwards with white gouache, but it never has the same effect. We should petition to make white gel pens!

It's an opaque kind of watercolour. I like it because it's not quite as permanent as acrylics... it's still watersoluble after drying so it allows me to blend. There are a few examples in my gallery, I don't use it that often because it takes longer than ordinary watercolouring, but probably the best examples are [link] [link] and [link] on watercolour paper, an envelope and printer paper respectively.

Absolutely beautiful... You could probably make some money doing comissions of people's departed pets from photos... I know I have many I've lost that I don't have a portrait of...

Aww *Nuzzles softly* Yeah.. thought about advertising, but where I would advertise I have absolutely no clue.. I need to make more pet portraits to show somwhere.. so I could possibly get some recognition. *she nods* Ive been wanting to start portrait drawing commissions for a long time, but dont know how to start with getting attention. ^^

I would love to do this commission or more commissions of your babies. I may have already said, but I plan on drawing all of the babes ive lost, and my present ones as well, im calling it my Fur Baby Portfolio. Eventually, it will be finished. ^^

Wow, I love a smokey grey cat like that. You captured that kind of pelt wonderfully! The eyes really jump out and look very smoothe and liquidlike. Great work, Tracker, if I had the extra money, I'd commission you to draw one of my babehs...probably the strifer thing.
