You know, you've got me thinking.. Zack and Aerith dated for a while between the time skips of Crisis Core.. what if this actually happened somewhere along the line? I mean Aerith and Zack had a pretty serious relationship, she sent him those what.. 98 letters? 89 letters? Something like that.. And Zack got a couple vacations. It's not an unreasonable possibility.
What if the Cloud-Aerith Gondola ride wasn't her first?

XIII-2 and Lightning Returns has given me a ton of food for thought on FFVII of all things. XIII, XIII-2, and LR are so different from one another and so much happens between the titles that gets unsaid that it's caused me to question a LOT of the gaps and spin-offs within the VII Compilation.
If I can ever slot aside enough time to work on my Calamity story.. I might even get the chance to address and voice those thoughts. But the short version? I think there's a LOT to FFVII that hasn't been said. Despite how much story is revealed in those games, and how massive a story VII is alone. There's still a lot of grey areas, a lot of dark spots. The more I think about it, the happier I am that Square has at least tried to address some of them.
I kind of wish the VII compilation was still going on actually. Nothing says it isn't, but we haven't seen anything to indicate that it is.
