I use those of Hiddenus, I use some of a Cycles-Book I bought once, I use those of the Materials-Vault and quite a bunch I found randomly on the internet, when I was searching for specific materials. It depends on what I need and after that I decide what source I use.

I can't tell you exactly what to do... I'm playing around a lot, I try out a lot and I read a lot. I learned most of what I know now through trial and error. Maybe working with a completely different game for once can help.
