Description
This drawing is what I'm calling a level up in terms of what I can achieve in my art. I added shading and lighting in ways I hadn't before and tried to work harder on the poses of the characters to get them just right. I’ve been feeling discouraged lately fighting my own doubts as an artist but this piece shows that not only I can improve but I can also have fun while moving forward with my goals and skills.
I miss Spyro... he was the first video game character I played as when I got Spyro Ripto's Rage. He was once so popular he was even PlayStation’s mascot but no more. True he's still a character in Skylanders but those games aren't really about him. So hopefully someday he will be back in the spotlight.
Oh one more thing for the clouds I used a free brush from a collection of custom brushes gathered by TsaoShin here’s a link if you want to check it out.

I really like the clouds in the background you have there. Gives this more concept and emphasis on the characters shown here. I do agree to an extent about Spyro in Skylanders. I dislike how they used him to get Skylanders off the ground when they didn't really need him at all.

I also miss Spyro but E3 is near so we could get an announcement for a remaster or new games in the Spyro franchise,afterall it's the 20th anniversary of Spyro next year.

Insomniac should work together with Naughty Dog (creators of Crash Bandicoot) on new Spyro game be it reboot or another classic or Legend game. Then perhaps bring us back a bunch of nostalgic characters bringing fan theories to life like Ember vs Cynder, Flame and Spyro as brothers, Ignitus as the father.

Let me clarify something when I said I miss spyro I only meant I wish he had a bigger role not that I found what he has become disgraceful. Well I only know of Skylanders spyro from the trailers for the games and show so I don't really have a good handle on how he's being portrayed. I can't say I'm happy about it but I'd rather we keep open communication with the creators to show them that we just want back the old spyro we love.

Believe me. The way the Skylanders games treated him was nothing. He's the only bad thing about the Netflix series Skylanders Academy. And believe me he's not even kid friendly in that otherwise kids show. He was born with a diaper in a nest left on the ground where everyone can reach or accidentally step on (something I'm sure many of us wish had happened) and left completely unattended (what kind of parents does he have?). He takes a picture of his butt, boasts about himself and stares at his reflection, and says one-liners like "I'm gonna crack that head of yours open like a giant egg." And you thought he couldn't be portrayed in any worse way. Well guess what. Even after that undesirable line it can still get worse. Other than that every other character and joke in the show was funny, original, kid friendly, and good. Even Crash Bandicoot was portrayed well. Though others argue about him talking and what his accent should really be like. At least it's better than squawking "pancakes" in a goofy voice. Some may argue that he shouldn't be portrayed with an intelligent expression. Though you can't really tell Naughty dogs original intention from the first PlayStation graphics. As for Justin Longs voice acting. I think he's fine. Some may beg to differ, but like Halle Berry's performance of Catwoman there's nothing any actor could bring to it to make it work. Except maybe convincing the writers how un-kidfriendly some of Spyros dialogue was. Mark Hamill has convinced George Lucas to remove clunky dialogue from Star Wars: a New Hope before. Surely Justin could have done the same thing but I don't know the risks of objecting to the directors and writers who have a vaster reputation and fame than ones self. It could have ended badly for him.
