Wow! This piece is spectacular! Your lines are clean and neat, and I really love all the detail you put in it! I love looking at the pictures of France and Cuba on his wall~
I love the framed pictures of England and the twins. The shine on the frame shows that a window is open and the light is being reflected! I can tell you put a lot of time into this drawing, looking at all the little details on the books in the bookshelf and even putting different colors on the TV remote!
I like how we can tell they're watching hockey without even having to look at the TV screen. Canada waving his flag on a hockey stick is a really good hint at what they're doing!
I really like the quality time feel of this piece as well~
This is awesome!!!

This picture is more awesome than Prussia could ever dream of being. The twins finally get to spend some quality time together without it being yaoi or anything. Just two brother dealing with each other. I absolutely adore how you had Canada have pictures of his two caretakers as well. And even Cuba! That was the part that really touched me. You were able to represent that Canada still cared for his friends and family even though they never remember him/mistake him for America. It makes me happy and sad at the same time. Absolutely fantastic! Bravo, my friend. Bravo. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/c/c… " width="20" height="20" alt="" title="Clap"/>

This is so amazingly beautiful, I can't even begin to describe it. Their expressions are amazing, Kumajiro is just snoozing away (which is hilarious), and, of course, America has his burgers and Canada has his pancakes. I have to admit, for someone who doesn't know much about Hetalia, you did an amazing job representing them in this picture. And the things in the background just make this picture better! The figurines, the jersey, the pictures, even the maple leaf clock that got cut off! In conclusion, I love this picture and I can only DREAM of drawing like this someday.

All I can say is wow! Everything about this is absolutely amazing. The details are incredible, down to the Canadian forks and the remote, the background is full of real life items and detail. It really looks like some place that Canada would live! The texture of the hair is spectacular, and I'm not saying this just because I can't draw hair. The texture of the clothing and the shadows , even on Kumajiro! It's all spectacular. I also like how you made them seem like real people and not bot h the same like many Hetalia fan art does. They look like they're related, and Like they're enjoying some bonding time. I hope one day I can draw and color like this! This is absolutely wonderful and there isn't anything I can offer much constructive criticism on! Over all my favorite thing has to be the shadows and the shading, and the Canadian flag pole. XD Excellnt work!

Oh my gosh. This is amazing! I love the detail you put into this! The shading is beautiful and your lines are sharp. It's amazedly put together. I can see the small details you put into the background. The pictures, posters, and even the books on the book shelf are amazing. Just looking at all the shadows makes this art work look so lively and that it's actually moving. The detail on Canada (who?) and America are spectacular. Also the detail in the food, the lighting of the tv, and everything makes me speechless. It's just really well done! I applauded you on your amazing work! Now I'm going to go look at your other work! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/> AMAZING!

Once again you've stunned me with a lovely picture. I like the way the flag looks, and the expressions on their faces. I can also tell you took some time one the background which is a plus!
The colors in this picture are fantastic and make the picture pop.
The idea of these two watching T.V. and Canada getting patriotic has been done before, but the idea of him going as far as to wave a flag is new to me.
The idea that America is doing this for Canada but doesn't like it is shown here, and is wonderful. Lovely work darling, keep up the fantastic work!

4.5 stars for impact because, generally speaking, unless you're a fan of Hetalia you're not getting the full emotional value of this piece. Regardless, it's very well-done and I'm afraid this critique won't do it justice. But I digress.

Like always, your use of color and chiaroscuro (to use the Italian term, meaning "light and dark") is astounding. I think you claimed to never have seen Hetalia before? Yet if I showed this to one of my Hetalia-obsessed friends they would automatically assume you're just as big a fan as they are. So bonus points for accuracy. Your backgrounds are just as tastefully done, giving a sense of depth both visually and emotionally-there's definitely a story behind the photos on the wall and the hockey figurines on that shelf.

The little details are the most important-at least, in my opinion. Things like individual buttons on the TV remote (seriously, how did you /not/ go crazy drawing that out?) and is that actual writing on the spines of those books? Once again you have created a fandom-inspired piece and made it your own. (Quite literally in this case, as the "Nijuuniville" shirt is keen to point out.)

Constructive criticism is always the hardest part to write, however. Shadows cast by a television are always extremely difficult to observe, even if you're looking at a photograph. Because the images on the TV screen are always changing, the light is always shifting and color tones change second-to-second. So while the shading in this piece may not be picture perfect, it's certainly a lot better than what I'd be able to do, and it's incredible especially considering you most likely created this room from the imaginings of your own mind.

However, I would suggest adding a few harsher, more dark shadows in places where they would be immediately cast, regardless of the lighting (ex. underneath the shelf and to the left of the metal support), and a slightly darker contrast between the walls that's being blocked by Canada's makeshift flag and the walls still receiving the glow of the TV. However, those are minor details that are easily overlooked, so I wouldn't worry about them at all.

Overall you did a fantastic job, and I sincerely look forward to your next big piece. Thank you for sharing this with us!

awoeifjawoej Finally I can get back to this LOL

first off: thank you SO much for such a thoughtful and detailed feedback, I appreciate it LOADS and I hope to improve with it 8D <333

I am really fascinated with the concept of chiaroscuro--it's one of the reasons Baroque art is probably my favourite era of artwork--and it's been a challenge for me to, i guess, get the courage to shade things darker and make things more volumous, so thank you for mentioning it .I agree with you about the difficulty with the shadows and lights cast from the television--I was having trouble actually figuring out how deep/lengthy to cast the shadows, and how strong to place the lights in a dimmed room. I still have a lot to learn to draw things to better realistic accuracy, but feedback like yours is super encouraging c:

Haha, yeah, I know close to nothing about Hetalia so i'm pretty happy I could capture things accurately 8'D NO THERE'S ACTUAL TEXT ON THE BOOKS LOOOOOL they're just--really tiny scribbles. Mmyes, I give myself a smug pat on the back for Nijuuville--if I could I'd ttly make a bunch of jerseys for my own colony of peoples LOOOL

Thank you again, sweetie! *muah*
