From “Angel series”.
I’ve been painting/drawing many angels who are wounded and polluted. These images were born by inspiration of photos which was taken in many war. I saw those once, and so shocked. Especially, destroyed religious things. Ruined statues of angels, or ruined church, for example.
The title is the message to the Lord from an angel being wounded in the same way like human victims. The phrase in the title is a quotation from Bible.

Those curls and the shading are excellent. I feel that adding more highlights in the hair may have taken away from the dim, low light effect.

Thank you for a comment! This angel have been appearing since 2007, since 2010 in oilpaintings. Happily lots of deviants faved on this work, but when I see this at now, I can paint same image well now.

Correction: I meant to say that more highlights in the hair COULD take away from the mood. An image does not need to be fully exposed to be pleasing to the eye, as in this case.

This angel appeares in my arts many times. He represents one of my important theme by himself (I written about that theme in the comment under the image). Angels can change their gender, but I regard this angel a male because his primal model is a man.

I'm just looking back on people who have commented on my gallery. You gave my watercolor "Rhea" a comment some months ago. I hope I thanked you. Well, I'm looking at "I Will Declare Your Name" and it makes me wonder what she would call me. She looks like she would give it plenty of thought ... and I believe her decision would be unique, appropriate, and undeniable. Beautiful gallery.

The title "I will declare your name" comes from the words in Psalms in holy Bible. "you" is the lord.The part of the Psalms are filled by suffering, but it concluded by complete trust in the lord. The angel is "who appears only in the place which seems no salvation", I'd like represent the ultimate hope by him.(Yes, "he". Angels can change their genders, and he also looks like both man and woman, but usual gender is man. Because the models are men)
