As winter is about to descend upon Europe, we, the operators of #europeans, decided it was about time for another contest!

The question we are asking you in this contest is: "What does winter look like in your country?". This is open to your perception: it can be a holiday, the reflection of winter in the landscape, specific traditions in your country... anything you desire that is winter-related!

Contest specifications
This contest is open to all members of #europeans. Membership to #europeans is absolutely free. You can join us by clicking on the "Join our Group" button in the left column on our front page.

1. You can submit art in any format supported by deviantART;
2. The deviation has to be an original work, posted on or after December 13, 2010;
3. You are limited to one entry in this contest;
4. Entries have to be noted to us. Please send us a note entitled "Winter contest", and include a link to, or a thumbnail of, your entry;
5. You are allowed to submit your entry up to Sunday, January 30, 2011, midnight CET.

All approved submissions will be added to the "Winter contest 2010" collection by our operators.

Judging
We are currently composing panels in five different categories. All panel members are operators of #europeans. They are not allowed to take part of this contest. The five categories we will separate deviations by are, in no particular order:

1. Photography;
2. Digital art;
3. Traditional art;
4. Literature;
5. Other media.

Prizes
Contests would not be contests without prizes! In total, there are 32 months of premium membership, or 7,556 points , to be won.

Grand prize

A one year subscription to deviantART, or 2,396 points , courtesy of ~europeans-donations.

First place in each category

One out of five three months subscription to deviantART, or 636 points , courtesy of ~europeans-donations.

Second place in each category

One out of five one month subscription to deviantART, or 396 points , courtesy of ~europeans-donations.

This means there will be 11 winners in this contest! The contest results will be posted in a #europeans blog post after the judging process is completed.
