When I save, i go to 'Original' instead of Optimized and I convert to sRGB... basically as maximum quality I can get. When they're manips like this it works better because the format handles colours better...
Heres a screenshot of my settings for saving gifs; Saved Settings  - if thats any help at all!

I'm going to do some more too... see how they turn out
