The young boy wondered who the shifter was. All he ever knew about the boy was that he was a deer shifter. It was quite an interesting and really cool power to Platinum.

Why? Because deer, or bucks were cool to him. Their antlers could go for miles it seemed like, and he knew from research that only the boy deer called bucks grow antlers. He had a lot of ideas of why Mercury's mom came for him in a panic. He had been quiet for a long time until he had his mom.

"How'd it really go? Who was that boy you were talking to?" Zaire asked. "A friend?"

"Well, I suppose now he is." Platinum said shrugging. "Don't really know."

"You know you shouldn't talk to strangers."

"I know but he started talking to me. He even said what school he was from and told me a lot of stuff."

"Like what? Just curious."

"He goes to the same school as Jamora."

"Really?"

"Yep."

"Hmmmm, did he give you a phone number?"

"No."

This confused Zaire but she shrugged it off and said, "Next time he comes back you ask for the phone number okay? That way you could be friends and know each other... How old is he?"

"He said 14 or 15."

"Oh okay."

The ride was a little silent after that. They were almost home. Jamora was at home watching TV of all things when Platinum and Zaire came home.

"Hey guys!" said Zaire.

"Hey, what's up?" Platinum answered.

"The ceiling." Jamora said.

"Huh?"

"Just something I got from my friends." Jamora said.

"You won't believe who I met." Platinum said.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, the deer shifter king was in the hospital bed.

He was out cold. The doctors diagnosed him with being in a coma state. No one could believe it.

"The car was doing just fine and then... It spun out of control." A wolf shifter said. He was a friend of Mercury's father. "Something flew out in front of the car and... we just spun out of control."

The chipmunk shifters looked at the king so solemnly.

"He will be fine. The coma state will be a long time though. We can't estimate very well when he will awaken. The estimate is still in its early state."

The chipmunk shifters wished the queen and prince Mercury farewell and then the rabbit shifters came in to see the king.

Gold knew one of the rabbit shifters. They spoke amongst each other about the king fondly. Mercury and Daisy didn't like how it seemed like he was dead but asleep. He was asleep regardless.

They worried for their father. So did Gold.

Daisy looked at her mom who looked really upset.

"We should be close to mom." Daisy said.

"Right." Mercury said.

So they came towards their mother. Gold seeing this, went towards her too to comfort her.

The next thing that happened was one that they didn't see coming.
