Description Patriots we are, ~stargirl91 and I went to the LZ Peace Memorial in Rockford, IL the evening of July 4th and decided to take pictures. I'd like to go again in the daylight with the same camera when the mosquitoes aren't eating us alive.

To honor those who sacrifice their time, and in some cases their lives, in the service of the United States of America. God bless you, and please come home safe.

:0 Lucky! I'd be messing about with the camera, my friend lent me hers and I just stared at it. It had aload of random buttons on it, I wasted half of the day just seeing what different effects and zooms you could get.

haha. i had about an hour beforehand to figure it out, so it wasn't totally lost on me how to work it and i was past the "ooh, shiny!" phase because i'd seen and played around with it before.

The camera I was using was shiny too (I say that like it's amazing? ), I spent a good 5 minutes pointing it at the sun and into my friends eyes; she wasn'te very happy!

Just out of curiosity do most American cities call them peace memorials as opposed to war memorials? I'm Canadian and here we call them war memorials (even though most cities haven't been updated since WWII era).

And cool photo, unique angle/good lighting

Nah, this is just a peace memorial for a change. We have war memorials like those for Pearl Harbor etc as well.

Thanks for the comment! I'd have loved to get the whole memorial in one shot, but that's fairly impossible due to the size of it.

ok...and no problem ..i'm sure with a nice wide angle and being far enough away you might be able to, but wide angle's are so dam expensive

you're right, i probably could, but considering I was borrowing my friend's camera i didn't have much control over what i was using

yeah exactly...camera gear is expensive, and i guess if your borrowing someone else's you cant complain too much about what they have lol
