Yay, Zoidberg! I made this for my good friend, Eric. It comes with lobster claw mittens. Woob woob woob woob!Zoidberg belongs to Futurama.

My goodness, I simply *have* to try making one of these for my brother.... he'd never wear it except maybe for a quick photo, but I think the look on his face would be priceless..... *giggle* thanks for the inspiration! I was wondering what to make out of my red fleece.

Thanks for the tips! That tutorial looks great; I've only made one hat, from a pattern I found on Instructables, but it made a very square hat. I'm excited to make one that's more of a 'beanie' shape. First I have to go stock up on proper supplies.... so excited!

w00t! Good luck! There are lots of guru sites out there if you stumble along the way, and clearkid is the best seamstress I have ever met and very kind, too!
It took me three times and about 7 hours to complete my first hat, so remember to never give up hope!

Wooooow...I seriously need to learn how to use my sewing machine. WheneverI try to sew anything, the stitches are always loose in the back, and I have no idea what to do...
Anyway, great hat. Epic had a blast wandering around with it on!

PS, the tension setting on your bobbin case may be be set to be too low, causing the lower stitching to be loose. It can be adjusted by twisting the screw on the case to tighten it, but if you make it too tight, the thread and needle may break! Hope that helps!

Oh and PPS, you will have to change the tension every once in a while if you are working with different types of threads, too! Also, it maybe be a good idea to oil your machine if it hasn't been oiled in 10+ years.
