just a quickie drawing, someone on tumblr had a Nick/Arnold Schwarzenegger crossover going, this isn't quite nick/arnold, but i thought this would still be pretty funny reguardless.Β X3 for those who aren't familiar, this is from the first expendables movie, where they crack a joke about arnold wanting to be president.Related content

I like Jack Savage and this is really funny too. I think the fandom has mellowed on him a lot more now and I think he's grown on many people, me included.
I think Rem289 was partially responsible for my dislike towards him at first, but after seeing other fan art and stories, he's just a dorky bun with a good heart all in all.

neh, i like rem's jack. it's people who write him in or put him in stories as a third wheel, or clumsily use him as a love triangle plot device that i think really contributed to people not liking him. all we really know of jack as far as "canon" is concerned, is he is a special agent, who likes to dress sharply. there's a lot of things we can deduce about him from that, but it's such a small amount of info, and depends on the person as to how it's "translated". i don't completely dislike triangle stories, but it HAS to be done in a way that servers a purpose, not just drama for the sake of drama, or shoddy writing to screw nick over, or whatever.
I kinda like it when he is a fairly smart and intelligent character, maybe very charismatic, able to read people he's working against, but when it comes to his personal life, is a complete dense dork. X3

Oh I like her interpretation of Jack too. It's one of the best I've seen. The first time I ever saw it though it gave off a bit of a negative response. I was like, "Hang on a minute mush! Just keep your paws to yourself, eh??" But as time went on it was obvious that Judy never saw him that way, merely as an inspiration, not a love interest. And judging by, with the way Rems' work has gone, he clearly has eyes for Cynthia only, even if neither of the two will admit it.
But yes, Jack is a social liability. When it comes to small talk or personal conversation, his brain melts down and stops functioning. Which is very funny, especially when it comes to him and Cynthia/Skye.
Ultimately, I think maybe Jack has grown into a position in the fandom where its simply him and Cynthia/Skye. Its kind of lifted the love/rivalry triangle since I certainly haven't seen a lot lately.
If anything else, he seems to have been accepted by many now, myself included
I wish Disney use Jack Savage in the lawsuit with Gary Goldman. After all, the movie was going to be entirely different and not called Zootopia, but Savage Seas as we all know. Disney can deny any similarities of Goldmans' work and use Savage Seas as an alibi. Goldman would then have to pull something pretty darn special out of the hat if he wants to win. Maybe Disney should sue him for damages!

he's appealing the court's decision to deny his claim, and honestly, it's a rat's ass chance of succeeding, he's clearly trying to ride off zootopia's success, given how long it took for him to file a claim. even if there was any validity to his claims, he didn't care til he saw how popular it was. where was he when tehy were releasing previews? when they had teasers? before the movie even released in theaters? even right in the release week of it? he didn't do a THING til well after it was shown to be really popular. so, unless there's some concrete evidence out there, i call bull to his claims.

I seriously pity Savage. He's not even official yet and the poisonous Zootopia fandom of the internet treats him like an asshole even though he's not yet real to know if his character is like that. XP

the beauty of a character that all you really know about him is his job, and maybe other small details. i dont' hate him, but it is fun to use him for some situations, and see what other people come up with.Β ;3

But the ONLY thing I see the fandom use him for mostly is a third wheel "asshole" trying to steal Judy from Nick and scold/tease him to a near confrontation; like Captain America vs. Iron Man type of fight. XD

mmm he's been used in other ways too, i've seen him used as just an annoying supervisor type roll, a roll where he was literally an actor PLAYING an agent but was a complete dork, used as a "friend" to them who helped spur nick and judy into opening up to each other... there was one fic that started off savagehopps but ended wildehopps :3

I'm thinking that maybe he was an actor, ironically like Judy and maybe why they use to click at one time but ultimately didn't work out because, like you said, he was a dork in a way and maybe a shy guy while Judy was more confident and they sorta went separate ways and Judy is into Nick. XP IDK how Disney would play his character out if they make him official around sequel time but I hope it's not going down the "jerk" route. XP

wildehopps is the OTP, but i do look at savage fics to see what they've done with him... there is only ONE or so that i've found that I appreciated, Ringless, and SavageWildeHopps

he isn't a character that left the story boards, but he was a real and legitimate character. Look in the art books, and way back when they were originally pitching story ideas, he was the main character. Yes, we do have a strong rabbit already, but since the earlier suggestions of this character were scrapped, Nick and Judy both ended up inheriting traits from him. The reason people always show him as a CIA/James Bond type of character, is because originally that is what he was supposed to be like. They is a fairly broad and general thing to say, who is "they"? every character has weaknesses, and since we really don't have much or what the creators of the character had in mind, it is open to interpretation by the artist or author using the character Jack Savage.Β
I would recommend doing some research on the character, and the early days of Zootopia's planning and the ideas that were turned down. It's actually pretty interesting when you look at the process that got us the movie we have today.
