Battle Frontier, Battle Factory.

Scott and Jace were in front of the Battle Factory’s reception, where a smiling lady greeted them.
Good morning boys, what can I do for you?” Scott grinned:
“I’d like to challenge the Battle Factory. I’m here to battle.” The lady nodded and tapped lightly on the keyboard:
“Sure, you only have to sign up, and then you’re in for the battles. Do you choose 1vs1 or 2vs2? Are you two guys going to battle in the same team?”
“No, I’m not going to compete.” The blonde boy, Jace, replied. “I’m just here to support him.”
“Yeah” Scott added, “I’ll battle. I choose 1vs1.”
“Very well. Please then, write your name and your datas here.” The lady said, as she gave Scott a white application form. Scott signed it and gave it back to the reception lady.
“Thank you” she said. “Now please, wait a second as I load your datas…” the lady started to add Scott’s datas in the Battle Factory’s computer. They waited for some seconds as it processed all the infos, and then, on a bigger screen behind the reception, a selection of five pokemons appeared:
“I’ve made some research about your first opponent, Scott.” The lady said. “He is going to compete with Hippopotas, Farfetch’d and Haunter. You can choose three pokemons among these five pokemons to be your team. Take your time with your choice, and let me know when you’re ready.”
Scott looked at the screen. The pokemons were: Sharpedo, Meditite, Chimchar, Hitmontop and Tropius. Scott took Chimchar’s pokeball, but Jace, who was reading a Battle Frontier guide, warned him:
“I’d choose wisely, if I were you, Scott. Your opponent’s first pokemon is going to be an Earth type, so it would be wiser to choose a stronger type, such as Sharpedo or Tropius.” He said.
Scott pouted: “I know that fire’s weak against Earth. But c’mon, you know me. I battle with fire pokemons. There’s no way I’m choosing a fish or a flower in my team!”
“But you’ve got Pidgeot in your team.” Jace pointed out. Scott put down the pokeball:
“Yeah. I know. I know that different types in your team makes your team stronger, but I like fire, most of all. I want to become the strongest fire trainer, and I want my pokemons to be so strong that they will win even against a stronger type. This is how I am. Look, I have no problem in choosing Meditite or Hitmontop here, but I can’t use a type who’s stronger or opposite against my favourite type! It’s against my principles!” Scott almost whined. Jace rolled his eyes and closed his guide:
“I know that.” He said. “I know you are too stubborn to see it, but let me enlighten you. These are not your pokemons. You didn’t train them. You still don’t know their strength, nor their limits. You can’t be sure that this little Chimchar can compete against that Hippopotas. I accept your vision of things, and many times I’ve seen your team winning against pokemon which were stronger than them, only because they’re just as stubborn as you. You and them work well together. But what do you know about these ones? Nothing.”
Scott didn’t reply, but took Sharpedo’s pokeball and eyed it suspiciously. He stood silent for a while, thinking about what Jace had said. Then he sighed:
“I guess you’re right, then. I don’t know these pokemons, so it’s better for me to choose a stronger type than my opponent’s.” Jace nodded, but Scott added, glaring at him: “But I’m not choosing Tropius. Hell will freeze before you will ses me with a grass-type pokemon!” Jace just rolled his eyes again.
In the end Scott chose Sharpedo, Meditite, and Chimchar. The lady, who had patiently waited for him to finish, smiled at him: “Are you ready?” she asked him. Scott nodded. “Good. Now please, follow me. I’ll take you to the arena. Good luck with your battle and have fun at the Battle Factory!” She took them to a corridor which leaded to the arena. Then she left them and went back to her place.
Scott inhaled sharply. He was going to battle. He was going to win. He would have become the best trainer in there, he knew that. A light cough interrupted the train of his thoughts:
“What would you do without me…?” Jace mused with a little mocking smile. Scott snorted:
“Oh, shut up. You ruin the atmosphere!” He said. Jace chuckled. “Are you ready?” Jace asked.
“I’m always ready.” It was the bold answer, and with that the two boys walked toward the arena.

I know that at the Battle Factory you're given a selection of six pokemons to choose among them, but I did only five here to fit them better on the screen.
