Description Today's the feast day of St. Joan of Arc, so to celebrate I decided to depict Kim Possible as the aforementioned French maiden. The comparison of the two maidens was natural, as they were/are both red-headed teenage warrior girls.

Her suit of armor is based on a drawing of Joan's from this website . The color of the plating is based on the description of one of Joan's armor suits being made out of "white iron," and the banner is based on the only known drawing of Joan (and her banner) made during her lifetime.

Made in Inkscape with a little last-minute touch in Photoshop Elements

Great picture. I haven't seen that show for years but I thought Kim was so cool! What if she and Joan met?

Interesting that the old picture with her banner has a long-haired Joan in a skirt. Perhaps the artist couldn't bear to draw her in man's clothing.

Yes. I was dismayed that the contemporary drawing didn't show her in the armor she wore.

The dude didn't ever see her so...
At least his banner was right. Joan had Jesus's name on her banner and also Mary's name and Jesus with a rainbow and the world and angels giving Him lilies and lilies all about the background.
A Scottish painter painted her from sight, but sadly that picture is lost
Her armor was like the one you put on Kim here.
If you want to imagine Joan herself she was an older teenaged girl with dark hair in a bowl cut, eyes described as either blue or dark that were large and prominent. She was considered rather pretty and was proportionate in limbs and of a  strong , sturdy build. She was about 5'2'' tall. She is said to have had a short neck and a red birthmark behind her ear. There is a statue of St Maurice made during her time, that looks nothing like his usual depiction and is very feminine, that some say is her. if this is true she had an oval face with visible cheekbone structure, a long, slender nose and small lips, the lower being fuller than the upper. Which actually kind of look likes the actress who played her in The Passion of Joan of Arc movie.

Yes - ah, I get your point.

Though Joan eventually got to heaven, and the English did ultimately get kicked out of France, so...

Like the British are going to be able to hold onto her. Come on, Kim breaks out of the kind of things they held her in on a daily basis; -and those had the benefit of modern and post-modern technology-. I don't think a primitive cell is going to hold her long enough... assuming she's captured in the first place

LukeDanger [2011-05-30 20:27:25 +0000 UTC]

The 100 Year War Brits would find themselves unable to hold Kim once captured, that's for sure. Dungeon cell? Please, she breaks out of worse regularly. Burned at the Stake? She ain't no witch and deals with one *COUGH*Bonnie*COUGH* daily. Heck, I doubt the British would of been able to capture her ANYWAYS.

Funnily enough, I've had relatively easy times seeing Kim in ye olde gory daze Mid-EVIL armor. Heck, I could envision a scene of Kim beating the snot out of some mysogonist knight and then taking off her helmet with a smirk... Gah, those *bleep*ing plot bunnies jump outta nowhere...

On the actual artwork, that's a really good job. Simple, yet effective. Nice work dude.
