Im not familiar with the Marlboro Country as a metaphor. I had to look up if he'S somking in this image, but he doesn't, but right, he smokes too much.
If it means, somthing relaxing and to take a break - than it is, it should be. Even or especially in such a world. One has to save energy whenever it's possible.
