My gosh, such amazing talent. They look SO real. I showed this to my friend, and at first she didn't see what the big deal was, but when I told her it was a painting, she was shocked. <3 I love this so much.

It's a beautiful piece in my eyes because to me the little girl appears to be connectnig emotionally with the orca, and it seems like she's sad that they are in an aquarium that is so small for them. I feel like deep down she knows it's animal cruelty.
Orcas in the wild have lived to be over 100 years old, but orcas in captivity only live to be less than 20 years old. The orca almost looks like it's asking for help. If this aquarium was based on a real one, then I'm very sad. They belong in the ocean.

You really think they should be set free? If they set any of their animals free, they'd die within a few weeks! They're not being abused in the slightest where they are. And yes, there have been a few cases where things have gone wrong, but it's all stuff that happened years ago! It's the same for the circus elephants. Once they've been freed, they've been murdered. Places like Seaworld are TRYING to save the animals, it's just that the odds are against them.Β

If you're talking about Sea World, then you obviously haven't seen the documentary, Blackfish, where the truth about how poorly the orcas are cared for is exposed. Since the documentary, Sea World has been asked to make numerous changes and they have failed. No changes have been made by those people. Have you even SEEN the orcas?Β They're very lethargic and listless, they hardly move at all and stay near the surface where they get terrible sunburns and nothing is done to correct this.Β And yes, I know the orcas that have been kept in captivity for their entire lives can't be released, but the ones stolen from the ocean at an older age could be sentΒ back home, and the ones that can't be released need better environments because they're all very ill and they are suffering.
I can't understand why people like you want to defend Sea World. It makes me SICK. I mean really, before you open your mouth, PLEASE know what you are talking about.Β

Β Β Β Β They don't capture wild Killer whales anymore though. They only take in ones that were injured, or abandon by there mothers at too young of an age, and cannot be returned to the wild. it is not animal cruelty, it is saving their life!!

Look, it's all very wise and noble that you care about orcas so much, but it's a PAINTING, a wondrous one, and I think it deserves complimenting the artist's skill rather than pondering on smth else entirely. Second, that's just your vision, but I pretty much doubt that a little girl is involved in a deep inner debate about orcas' living conditions in some American center, she's most likely just attracted to the uniqueness of the artwork. If you wanna discuss more serious stuff with others while calling them "ignorant",Β don't you think there are better internet sources for that?
