This was shot in the shade with light filtering through the trees. The natural light was augmented with my (new; second time out) Nikon SB-5000 flash with Nikon Diffusion Dome, set in commander mode. The flash allowed me to balance the brightness of the sky and natural light without looking artificial. The SB-5000 (which comes with a 135-page manual!) replaced the SB-910 in Nikon's lineup and it's a well-spent $500.
