The author does not give any particular textual reference on her name.Personally I find it a good sounding imaginative name,sometimes when creating secondary worlds many authors blunder with their names.

I too have seen the name before. It sounds Scandinavian and apparently "iskaldur" is Icelandic for 'icy'. Have you ever read the edda? It could very well be a name for a weapon or a giant.
Ah, now I notice it. Literally it must mean "ice cold". Isyllt could very well be a Nordic version of Isilde/Isolde.

I know zero Latin,we only did ancient Greek in high school and in University I studied business administration,my sis did Latin in uni though I'll ask her about it.
