If I may give any opinion about what you said...

It's really sad most of the fans don't like Kana, but it's not really because she's only a human and doesn't have any powers. Manga's don't have any commitment with reality at all, and characters like Youhime, Kiyotsugu, Wakana, Maki and Torii have proved that the humans of this manga CAN overcome the readers' expectations with their character development. So being a human is not really a justification for Kana to be the type of character she is, which, we have to admit that is not the one that captivates people as easily as the others'. The thing is that Kana is pretty impotent because she is a static character. It's not like that's a bad thing in some cases, but on hers, it was, because it was one of the reasons why her development was so delayed and so small. I'm one of the people that was hoping for something better of Shiibashi-sensei's part regarding her character, though. Even being a RikuTsura shipper, because, unlike most of RikuTsura shippers, I don't hate Kana-chan. I'm also the type that roots for developments of all sorts of characters, because that makes the story more and more interesting. But in the end... poor Kana. It now feels like Kiyotsugu has taken her place as Rikuo's most out-standing human friend. *sigh*

There's also one thing that makes people dislike her: the anime's first season. As you probably know, Junji-sensei (the S1 director) was a Kana fan and he changed a lot of the story so that Kana would look like a main character and the most prominent heroine, who would end up with the protagonist. With that, he publicly admitted he told his staff to give a big push to Kana and a small push to the other two heroines. That backfired, and not only caused NuraMago's popularity to fall, but created some sort of "Kana-phobia" amongst the fans, who mostly shipped RikuTsura and were mostly Tsurara and Yura lovers. It did bring a few more RikuKana shippers and Kana fans, though, because the anime made people more aware of her existence (since in the manga, we almost see nothing of her).

Hm... when has Rikuo ever lied to Kana about his youkai self? And just because they were friends doesn't mean they had some sort of pact of never hiding anything from each other. Besides, Rikuo hid his identity because he needed to. He had to protect her and the rest of his friends from the dangers of the youkai world. We all saw the pandemonium it was when people found out about him and youkai and human worlds clashed. I think no one would ever be angry in Kana's place. She only has reasons to be thankful for him. Also, I wouldn't say Rikuo was the one thing that Kana hated. Usami Yura hated youkai, but Ienaga Kana found youkai scary until she met Rikuo's night self. She actually liked both of them romantically, and she admitted that more than once, so finding out he and Rikuo were the same person is, theorically, a reason to only like him more, not hate him. Still, it seems Kana's interest has been pushed into Kiyotsugu. It also seems her feelings for Rikuo are fading away. But after Kyouto's episode and Kana finding out something that was once really obvious (Rikuo = Youkai Rikuo), I think this is understandable.

Sheesh, this ended up being bigger than I had thought it would be...

Oh, that is... well, during Kyouto arc, Kiyotsugu surprised Kana quite a bit with his actions, while he was risking his life to prove youkai weren't all evil. He also made her stop crying, and it was cute how everything was literally sparkling around them (yup, the author actually put sparkles on the background). While Kiyotsugu showed his determination to prove his friends (Rikuo and Tsurara) were saviors and was cheering on them, Kana blushed at him with a look of admiration more than once. Kana also motivated Kiyotsugu to go talk to night Rikuo, as well as Kiyotsugu went to aide her when the Nura mansion's roof was falling apart onto them. So, yeah, that's why I think that way.

Yeeeah. XD I'd prefer to ship Kana with Shima and Kiyotsugu with Maki, though. I think they make better matches from what they have positively contributed with the story and Rikuo and from the level of badassness of their characters. But I don't really mind the KiyoKana ship tease. I actually found it cute. And as long as it's not with Rikuo, I think I'm fine with Kana being with anyone, so I'm glad they didn't get together in the end. I'm also glad that, after the Kyouto arc, Kana's feelings for Rikuo seemed to have diminished to the point one could think she had already forgotten about them (I mean, she was no longer blushing or stammering or anything like that, just either acting normally or admiring Rikuo's determination just like the rest of their group of friends), and that in the last chapter, Tsurara was showed to be Rikuo's most possible choice for a future wife. X3

Yes. In fanarts and fanfictions, fans can create whatever they want for that ship. But fanarts and fanfictions are scarce for RikuKana, because the number of fans for that pairing is really small. '-'

By the way, I forgot to mention this in the last reply. But if you don't want spoilers for the last chapter, don't read it: Rikuo and Kana don't get together in the end. In fact, Kana wasn't even showing feelings for Rikuo anymore back then (and neither was Yura), but she was with Kiyotsugu all the times she appeared (which wasn't much), so I think Shiibashi-sensei made his implications about the pairings pretty clear in the end. ^_^

Still, like you said, fans can still dream. I just wonder how people get to like RikuKana when it has nearly no real romantic borders. In 210 chapters, Kana only had 2 moments of ship tease with Rikuo (if the second can be considered ship tease, that is). And I find it funny how RikuKana shippers are usually hardcore, but when I ask why they like the pairing, they all say the same thing: because it's cute or because they find Tsurara annoying. When I ask about the ship tease, all they talk about is Kana's b-day and nothing else. That really disappoints me. :/

well for starter i'm disappointed in all the shippers because they usually like to bashing on the tree character, but there also that don't (like for example, they like tsurara and then they bashing Kana or when they like Kana and they bashing on Tsurara)

i really like the moment between Tsurara and Kana, cause they have rival-friend moment is so cute when they start getting jealous and all

I have a lot of Final Fantasy and Disney OTPs, but as for the characters original from KH, I ship SoraxKairi/RoxasxNamine, LarxenexAxel, AquaxTerra and a few others. But I can't remember all of them now, sorry. And you? :3

Oh, me too. I see that a lot, especially in fanfictions. The writers usually destroy their characters. I have a friend that ships both RikuTsura and RikuKana, but leans more into RikuKana for finding it cuter, and she coincidentally told me TODAY that she really likes my RikuTsura story on fanfiction.net because it's the only NuraMago romance fan-story she ever read that doesn't bash Kana. I didn't know if I should be happy or sad with that. I think it's both.

Well, it was never exactly a rival-friend relationship. It was pure rivalty before, now it's just plain friendship. They no longer consider themselves rivals. I think that's because of two reasons: one is the obvious fact that Tsurara will always be the one that Rikuo will keep the closest to him, not mattering if he marries her or another, so either way is a win for her (I also think she will always remain as the character that loves him the most, regardless of whoever he may fall for, if not for her). The other is that it seems Kana doesn't have feelings for Rikuo anymore, like I told you before. So, yeah. :/

I hope so too. I'm fond of friendship fanfics. In any case... *whispers* they shall become really good friend's in mine, ohohoho. ;3

By the way, the English translations of the last chapter of NuraMago are out. Did you read it?

Double twins? Woah... I never really thought about it. I think the whole "Roxas comes from Sora, who comes from Vanitas, who comes from Ventus" thingy was too stuck in my mind and prevented me from thinking about other possibilities like those. XD

I'm surprised it's the first time you get to know about someone shipping both RikuKana and RikuTsura. I've met at least four of those... but I converted two of them into RikuTsura without even noticing. We just started discussing and then... lol. XD

I'm not sure Kana is her favorite. I think Rikuo is the one. But yes, that's exactly what she told me. She's glad I don't bash Kana, and told me those kind of fics are rare.

I don't think I need to do that, since Kana and Tsurara are about to become really good friends in my story.

Yeah, Rikuo will certainly be the one that had most impact, not only because he was the first, but because of all he was/did.

Actually, he did show us who Rikuo ends up with. In the last volume, there are five omake manga, and the last of them shows Rikuo trying to kiss Tsurara while the two of them are stuck in the storage room of the school gym. They couldn't kiss because Ao interrupted them (thinking he was helping them by kicking the door open), but Rikuo's feelings for Tsurara were confirmed. On the last page, we have the drunk Nura clan jeering and making jokes about Rikuo and Tsurara getting married. They also imply they will be getting married in the future while answering fan letters. And within the last volume, there's a postcard with an old illustration of the two of them in a date at a summer festival, in which Shiibashi-sensei wrote that after writing about the Kitsune's curse being broken (in another omake) and Rikuo and Tsurara's almost kissing scene (last omake), he finally felt he had finished his manga.

So yeah, Tsurara won the shipping war.

well its because of my friend that ask me about it
he said "its those boys a twin or what, why they share the same face??" because of him that i think of the possibility of them became double twins with Cloud as the father and Tifa as the mother and for the girls(the triplets are Kairi, Namine, Xion and maybe Yuffie as the older sister(so Van had a girl )) i think i root Aerith with Zack as the parents<3

Looks like his next work is a recycled idea from an Omake of Nurarihyon no Mago, The Dark Pawnshop. In that omake, Ryuuji is investigating an organization and he and the others fight them. Hagoromo-gitsune's school bag appeared in it. And it looks like the protagonist of the story will be the Pawnshop's owner. The story would be probably darkish and have youkai and some horror scenes. It seems cool!

I never don't listen to them ^^ And I really don't understand, why they hate Kana, instead of represent herself on her place, same so it is cool - be the friend of the childhood, and even more, such guy as Rikuo, as day and night

I don't have claims to couples of Rikuo with Tsurara or Rikuo with Yura, but irritates that people forget who they is and so skeptically concern pair Rikuo with Kana

It's probobally because everyone likes tsurara more than kana.

That's true. And I understand those people, but I can't give an order to my heart - Kana more closer to usual people, and expecting from her different heroical deals is too much. That because Tsurara more adorable for other people.

And what? I draw what I want, I have Rikuo with Tsurara scenes too, and love them as couple, but why you hate a character only for mangaka's ideas? Seriously, it's kind a unhonest to poor Kana, which have such kind a role in manga. I suppose, that everybody could love Kana, if she was on Tsurara's place (I mean she as Youki-onna) and coul hate Tsurara for such role, as now have Kana

I can draw whatever I want, and I don't care, do you like it or not. I don't make you to love it, I just have draw MY favourite thing and characters. If you can not say something about my mistakes in a drawing art, so I don't wanna argue with you. Get lost.
