Description

it came to my attention a while back that Al’s armor didn’t originally have the cross on it which only left me to think these dorks wanted to match. maybe as a tribute to Izumi? idk!

Yeah, I always thought Ed was the one who painted it on to pay respect towards Izumi. Both of them were her students. And yes, it was also because they wanted to match and be super fab.

Wow! That's so awesome! You've just given me more headcannons for my fics! XD

That is a really cool picture! I love it! By the way, that symbol is called the 'Flamel' after Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist who developed it. Just some random triva, in case ya didn't know.

This is really beautiful. Just sayin'. I never thought about Al's symbol much before. I love your art!

You made me curious, so I looked up the symbol, would you like to hear it?

Sure! I know it was named after Nicolas Flamel, but other than that I really don't know much about it!

That, of course, is one interpretation.

You ready?
The snake is no ordinary snake, it's a basilisk, as indicated by its wings. The basilisk is the king of snakes, but he has committed an unforgivable sin and has been crucified for it, however he is not powerless and is still strong, as indicated by the crown. Therefor it represents someone who has committed an unforgivable sin and is suffering for it but is still very powerful  and dangerous. Very appropriate, wouldn't you say?
There's more I thought of with the characters and the symbol. Care to hear?
