History:
[TLDR : Teho was born in the North, and life was good until Dad dove into the Rift and returned changed and somehow made Teho become mute.
Teho left their family, became a pirate in Portsea. Joined Sloane's crew a while later.]

Teho grew up in a small community on the northern coast of the Iron Mountains domain, locally known as White Field. All Teho knew back then was ice and water. When the people walked on the frozen sea, it was to hunt and fish. When the water would come back, black and cold still, they used slick boats to travel around and trade with the other towns. From an early age, Teho and their younger siblings were trained to become hardy fishermen, expert divers and good sailors. Life was harsh and winters unforgiving, but family provided warmth and security and they were still times for playing, running around, singing and building snow dragons. Teho felt happy, back then. The turmoils of the southern nobility mattered very little to the hunters of the White Field.

Once Teho became old enough, the teenager was tasked to follow their father Tulimaq in his trips to Portsea, where convoluted alliances with local pirates were often debated. Teho was an obedient child, and hardly ever wandered off on their own. It was Tulimaq who once requested that they stopped by the Rift - having heard of the strange cave, the challenge of the deep light intrigued Teho's father. His diving skills were so impressive that even their Byfox neighbors had heard of his exploits and referred to him as a "Selkie", which was apparently almost a compliment. Some pirate friends encouraged Tulimaq to try his luck there and uncover the mysteries of the fairly recent discovery. So he did. Bringing Teho along to keep watch of the pool while he dove, the Selkie soon disappeared deep inside the bright waters. Teho remained, and did not feel nor excited or worried - they simply knew their father knew best, and that if anyone should reach the deepest ends of the Rift, it would be him. Except it did not go as planned. Once the boat returned to the White Field, Teho could not talk anyone, and Tulimaq was an entirely different man. Years went by and no one among the Tidewalkers would get any of them to talk about what happened : the event, secret but nonetheless traumatic, put a dent in the harmonious relationships of the hunter clan. From then on doubts, anguish and resent grew within the family like cracks in the ice floe. Tulimaq became the shadow of his former self, and one night walked away in the snow storm to never return. Teho remained for a while after his death, but knowing that their sheer presence was a source of worry for the entire family, they finally elected to leave the White Field, and the Iron Mountains altogether.

They went down the coast by sailing alone or travelling on foot from town to town until they eventually reached Portsea, where they started working as a docker and the occasional boatswain for local pirate crews. Life became more hectic then, but no amount of violence and rowdiness seemed to phase the tall hunter ; in the ten years they spent in Portsea's docks, the Tidewalker was often remembered as a helpful weirdo whom it was unwise to try to lie to.

One day Teho heard of a curious team of young pirates - one they had seen work tirelessly around the docks - were recruiting crew-members. No one knows for sure why the much older hunter decided to join the brand new Mollymawk, but it almost felt like they were waiting for this to happen.

    Likes/Dislikes:

Throat Singing - Diving - Hunting - Drawing - Old maps - Fresh snow - Smoked fish
Deception - Coercion - Hot summer days - Sweets - Mountains or anywhere you cannot see the ocean

Extra:

They are the Mollymawk's boatswain : their duties include supervising sailing with the help of their whistle, handling cargo, repairing sails and knots, and occasionally picking up the drunken sailors littering the deck.

 6'2"

Most likely selectively mute. Communicates with sign language and direct orders with a whistle while sailing. They still enjoy throat-singing, but it usually takes two to perform the songs of their childhood, so...
