Thanks you may not believe this but on a hindsight I'm seeing even too much detail if nothing else I wish I could figure out how to get rid of the darker stuff in the main flame gaps...

Do you mean in the central X-shaped area? I have to admit that I pasted the image into PS Elements and blew it up before I could see anything in that area! But it would actually be quite easy to 'dispose' of those details using little bit of post-work. I have NO idea how you'd get rid of them in Apo

Eh, that's the point probably there's just no way period, it must be a side effect of the scry variation. Level adjusting in post-work took care of most of it, but also affected the rest a bit too much - on the other hand I just couldn't be arsed to brush it all away so eventually I've left the image as it was... but it's stinging me still

I tried the "Magic selection brush tool" in PS Elements (works similar to the full PS "select by color range" option) and it did an amazingly good job of picking out the area. That tool either works brilliantly or is a complete pain in the arse Might not work so well on the larger original render though.

On the other hand, the suggestion of hidden/secretive structure in that area is not necessarily a bad thing

Thanks - I thought a bit of weird humour went well with the gigeresque feel, glad you liked it

Great gothy design. The lines on this are so crisp too, that's amazing for Apo!

Thanks it's true however, getting Apo to draw crisp lines without scattering grain everywhere is a mess - here I've used the Apo post processing tool to play with different gamma and filter values. That's a cool feature, though it takes ages to apply changes (on my pc at least)...
